How We Started The market was born in 2020 through the alliance of two farmers determined to increase access to local food in the Powassan area.The Carriage House Market’s mission is to work in collaboration with local farmers and food producers to give them a place to showcase and sell their products to the public. Every Day there is something cooking in our kitchen and some days it's a special day. Thursday it's Burger and Fries.Friday it.s Pizza. Everyday is breakfast sandwich day choose from our classic breakfast sandwich or our bagel variety. The rest of the week Chef Nick prepares one of his inspired lunches using seasonal ingredients on hand.Pair it with a great cup of coffee or a special craft soda. Occasionally we throw in Cinnamon Buns,Pretzels or some other tasty treat. ×

Powassan Voodoos

The Powassan Voodoos Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club are one of 12 member teams of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL). Founded in 2014, the Voodoos have compiled an overall record of 224-81-20-5, won the NOJHL Regular Season title three times (2016-17, 2017-18, and 2019-20), and were NOJHL Champions in 2016-17. The team plays out of the Powassan Community Sportsplex, which straddles highway 11, is just a 20-minute drive from North Bay, and approximately a three-hour drive north of Toronto. Team ownership and management have one simple goal: to put a highly competitive team on the ice that players, coaches, and local residents can be proud of.
