Hawks Silver at the Silver Stick

Congratulations to the Atom Hawks for their weekend in Pembroke at the Silver Stick Regional Tournament.

After enduring a grueling 7, yes 7, games, the Hawks fell in the finals, to earn silver in the qualifier for the international tournament.

The Hawks played an extended 3 on 3 overtime in the semi-final to have Chase Thompson to score and push the team to the finals.

Great job Hawks. We are very proud of you

Powassan Minor Hockey Association would like to congratulate and recognize one of their own.

Brendan Hawk Dale Batt Brendan Battalion

Congratulations to a former Hawk Brendan Dale for his recent call up to the big show in the OHL for the North Bay Battalion. Brendan played back up to Battalion goalie Jake Kment on November 1st game vs Niagara IceDogs.

Brendan is a goaltender who started his minor hockey career here in Powassan as a Hawk and played here until Bantam. With no rep team in Powassan that year Brendan play Bantam House for his final year as a Hawk. He then took a huge leap and for the next two years in grade 9 & 10 he played High School hockey for the Scollard Hall Bears. With lots of hard work on and off the ice Brendan was asked to try out for the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers in 2014/15 season. Up against 9 of the top goalies in North Bay and area Brendan made the Trappers team as back up to the OHL Erie Otters draft pick Colton Point. Currently Brendan still plays for the North Bay Trappers as their starting goalie and he is also affiliated with the Powassan Voodoos jr A Hockey Club as their third goalie as well as the North Bay Battalion.

PMHA would like to remind all Hawks that no matter what level of hockey you play to never give up, and that with hard work and determination you can achieve your goals and dreams.

Congratulation Brendan great job keep up the hard work. You have made all Powassan Hawks proud to be a Hawk.

This year the PMHA has created the "HawkStar Award". Chosen by the team coaches and staff, one player from within the PMHA will receive 2 tickets to a Powassan Voodoos home game. The players chosen will have worked hard and shown what it means to be a Hawk, in the best possible way. A different player from a different teams will chosen for each Voodoo home game.

Winners for this season, so far, have been:

Charlie Dobbs

Crystal Odd

Jacob McGill

Quinlan Young

Keaton Lefevre

Maddox Gedanitz

Congratulations and keep up the Hawk spirit. Way to go HawkStars.
